I’ve been a freelance photographer for nearly 30 years. During
that time I’ve been privileged to travel across the country photographing
editorial and commercial assignments. My photographs have appeared in
hundreds of publications around the world.
About 8 years ago, my family and I
moved to a small town east of Columbus, Ohio. Suddenly I became aware of
the many barns that were now part of my neighborhood. I was most attracted
to old wood barns. The peeling paint and rotting wood of these once grand
structures caught my eye. Growing up as a city boy, I never paid much
attention to barns. Now my eyes were tuned in to find these wonderful barns.
I then began a personal project
traveling across the state documenting the great barns of Ohio. This web
site is a place to share my love for these old barns. Too many of these barns
have been abandoned and will either collapse or become the victims of
commercial development. But thankfully many others are still being used
and preserved by their dedicated owners.
If you'd like to suggest an Ohio barn for me to photograph and add to the
collection, I'd be happy to hear from you. Email me at
